The Dunes

Friday after work a bunch of friends from Denver (and New Mexico!) met up at the Sand Dunes National Park in Southern Colorado. We got off to a late start, as these things always do, and there was a lighting issue with the Silver Bullet, so we arrived after midnight.
The next morning, most of the group went hiking at Mt. Blanca, and Annelia, Bri and myself hiked into the sand dunes. It was a gorgeous and relaxing day.

I had to leave early on Saturday because my Ice orientation was the next morning. I took Hwy 285 on the way home past the Sangre de Christo mountains and through Buena Vista. The aspens are in full swing so the longer drive back to Denver was well worth it.
